WiFi or 802.11 was adopted back in the late 90’s as the worldwide wireless standard, ensuring mobility as well as interoperability across all vendors. WiFi, which at first was exclusively focused on indoor and corporate applications, has evolved to respond to the growing demand for consumer Broadband Wireless Access – More commonly called Fixed Outdoor or Mobile Wireless Access Solutions.
